Bellingham-born and platinum-selling-multi-Grammy-nominated rockstars Death Cab for Cutie released a single EP to the latest record Thank You for Today, titled Kids in ’99.
The song is about the Whatcom Creek (Bellingham) Pipeline explosion in 1999 that destroyed 1.5 miles of creek through the middle of town and killed three boys, one of whom was fly fishing, having just left work at the local fly shop just two blocks away.
