Who: Portland-based Soul River Inc. (@soulriverinc) is Navy veteran (…and hero of a human being) Chad Brown’s non-profit which introduces inner city youth to fly fishing and wild places, pairing them with U.S. veterans as mentors to develop next generation outdoor leaders and stewards of the environment. They take inner city kids on river ‘deployments’ all over the country to teach, learn, grow and heal. They move the needle, change the image, and shift the paradigm.
What’s on auction: 8’ 5-weight black Shuksan Bamboo fly rod @shuksanrods paired with a custom Decade click-pawl reel handmade with blackened oak inlays. This unique rod and reel are rich and boldly dark. Inscribed on the rod spine are the words “soul rivers run wild” and engraved in the black walnut reel seat is the word “LOVE” …As Chad says, “Love is king”. Included are 2-identical tips, brass and aluminum rod tube, and handmade rod sack from Between Two Banks
Where and When: Online bidding is open till end of February via link below. The rod/reel are immediately available after closing (no wait time) and purchase price is tax deductible. Total sale price raised goes to Soul River.
